The flotation of pyrophyllite has a considerable diluting effect (up to 50% pyrophyllite) on the resultant concentrate and single handedly reduces a substantial gold deposit to a concentration of ...
Pyrophyllite is a rare phyllosilicate mineral, an aluminum silicate hydroxide (Al2Si4O10(OH)2) It occurs either as flakes more or less similar to muscovite or as compact radial-acicular (needle like) masses, with distinct crystals not known. The folia have a pearly luster, and are usually arranged in radial fan-like or spherical groups, in off-white to orange red hues. DIRK …

In this paper, we report on the dehydroxylation of pyrophyllite and the reversibility of the process. A value of 224±16 kJ/mol for the dehydroxylation of pyrophyllite was obtained. In addition, it was observed that the partially or totally dehydroxylated pyrophyllite suffered a partial reversible rehydroxylation when cooled to room temperature.
Pyrophyllite is a phyllosilicate mineral composed of aluminium silicate hydroxide: Al 2 (Si 4 O 10) (OH) 2. It occurs in two more or less distinct varieties, namely, as crystalline folia and as compact masses; distinct crystals …

Pyrophyllite, a hydrous silicate mineral boasting distinctive attributes, emerges as a viable substitute for various clay minerals such as kaolin, talc, and feldspar, demon- ... aluminosilicate minerals within specific pH ranges. Additionally, sodium silicate is employed as an auxiliary reagent in the process. The batch flotation experiments were
pyrophyllite and sericite-pyrophyllite with nodules of diaspore and admixture of kaolinite and hematite. The pyrophyllite in these deposits formed at 275–340ºC at a pressure of 1 kbar water, according to decrepitation inter-vals of gas-liquid inclusions in pyrophyllite (Taras Bryndzia, 1988). In North Carolina, USA (Philip, 1983) the ...

Pyrophyllite is a 2:1 dioctahedral phyllosilicate. Its unit formula is Al 2 Si 4 O 10 (OH) 2. It has no layer charge due to the lack of atom proxying or isomorphous substitution, and only minimal edge charge. It has the simplest structure of any of the dioctahedral 2:1 phyllosilicates. Pyrophyllite crystals are constructed by oriented stacking ...
